Dublin Literary Award

Dublin Literary Award is one of the prompts on my reading challenge Literary Fifteen. The award celebrates literary excellence in world literature. Awarded to a novel of high literary merit written in English or translated into English. Nominations are submitted by libraries in major cities throughout the world and all nominations end up on the longlist.

It is one of the first awards I started following as its global scope meant more books were available compared to awards focusing on recent releases in the US or UK. I have always had a warm spot in my heart for this award as the longlist is nominated by libraries across the world and it includes translated fiction as well as books originally written in English.

My reading & posts

Since before the longlist was announced I had read Stolen by Ann-Helén Laestadiues (loved it – please read!), Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver (very good), and Chain-gang All-stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah (a fantastic dark read that is nominated for 2 out of 2 prizes on Literary Fifteen so far).
